Russell Community Theatre
BEHIND THE SCENES - September,
1997 - ISSUE #33
SEASON TICKETS
Tickets for our 1997-98 season are on sale. Each $13 ticket entitles you to admission to each of our three shows. For dinner theatre in the summer of 1998, an additional dinner charge will be made for those wishing dinner.
Purchasing a season ticket will save you money. At the door admission cost is $6 per show, or $18 for the season. So, a season ticket saves you $5.
Too, you’ll get Behind the Scenes quarterly, have an exclusive two-week period to make reservations for shows where reservations are required, and make us very happy.
It makes us happy because we can better calculate our annual budget based upon season tickets rather than wait to see how many people show up at the door wanting single admissions.
Anyway, tickets can be purchased by returning the Season Ticket Order Form, calling our office number, 913-483-4057, and leaving a message, or by contacting anyone involved with RCT.
The Imaginary Invalid
Opening our 1997-98 season is The Imaginary Invalid, Moliere’s classic tale of a hypochondriac. Set in France, this farce will be sure to charm and delight you.

Production is set for October 7 - 11 at Ruppenthal Middle School auditorium at 8:00 p.m. Admission is by season ticket or by single admission at the door for $6.00. There are no reserved seats.
If you like to laugh, make plans to attend now.
Mixed Emotions
Special thanks go to Brenda Meder, Bill Walters and Teressa Roe who all overcame obstacles to present a funny, well-received show. Over 400 attended and a good time was had by all.
Dinner theatre seems to be enjoyed by most of our patrons. Unfortunately, we can’t always seat everyone so, next year, make your reservations early.
Spotlight On...
Often a theatre’s success is partly attributable to people you never see mentioned in the program.
For instance, the past two years our season ticket brochure and posters have been designed by David and Danica Hoffman of Sterling, Kansas, the son-in-law and daughter of Mark and Judy Arthur. Both are professionals in graphic design and they contribute their time and talent for our theatre’s benefit.
Their contributions have laid to rest our old cut and paste methods and save us countless hours.
- AND -
The kind words and great reviews our shows receive from Jim Joule of the Russell Daily News increase our audiences and give more specifics of the nature of our shows than we can accomplish with our marketing program.
Sometimes, even when something about a show isn’t great, Jim always finds a way to be gracious. We can’t tell you how much his reviews mean to our actors.
And, after he’s reviewed a show at dress rehearsal,
he and his family pay regular admission to see the show on a production
night. His willingness to pay to come back and see it again is the best
review of all.
